Fatality Free Friday History

Fatality Free Friday seeks to raise awareness on the importance of driving safe and focused to reduce road deaths and injuries each year. Founded by the Australian Road Safety Foundation in 2007, Fatality Free Friday is the largest community-based road safety program in Australia. Fatality Free Friday is an annual occurrence and will take place on May 26th, 2023.

In 2022, 1,160 road crash deaths occurred, which is an increase of 2% when compared to the number of road crash deaths in 2021.
In 2022, people aged 40 to 60 experienced the most road accident deaths, followed by the age group 17 to 25.
