British Soap Awards History

The British Soap Awards seek to honour the best moments in British soap operas. Soap operas are radio or television series that typically follow a continuing plot. This day aims to award those nominees chosen by industry professionals. Several categories are chosen by voters at home. These include best actor, best actress, and best British soap. The award ceremony airs on ITV or channel 3, the British free-to-air channel.

The British Soap Awards first took place in 1999. They are observed annually either in late June or early July.
