English Football League Awards History

The English Football League Awards seek to recognize those clubs who have exceeded expectations and performed well in the sport. This day encourages every club to enter. The awards celebrate all aspects of football. Categories include EFL supporter of the year, community club of the year, and goal of the year. Awards are judged by experts in the football industry and media.

The English Football League Awards were established in 2006. They are observed annually at the beginning of March.

English Football League Awards Facts

In 2021, the Championship Player of the Year award went to Emi Buendia (Norwich City). The League One and League Two Player of the Year awards went to Jonson Clarke-Harris (Peterborough United) and Paul Mullin (Cambridge United).
In 2021, the Goal of the Year award went to Lee Novak (Bradford City).
In 2021, the Young Player of the Year award went to Michael Akpovie Olise (19 y/o, Reading).
