Young Carers Action Day History

Young Carers Awareness Day seeks to raise awareness about the challenges young carers face. Young carers are those children and young adults who are responsible for a person with a physical or mental disability. Caring for someone can be isolating, worrying, and stressful, especially at a young age. This day aims to support young carers by providing them with the resources they need. This day hopes to identify and recognize young carers to make sure they are well-equipped to care for another person.

Young Carers Awareness Day was established in 2016 as part of a campaign to help young carers. It is observed annually on 16th March.
